SYSTEM ENGINEERING

Our mission is based on an engineering approach shown in System Engineering and Program Management.

Here at NET we believe that in every project – big or small – one must go beyond the single infrastructure, the immediate needs. We feel that in order to design and plan responsibly, every project must be seen as a system engineering project.

It must not only be technically feasible but has to be based on the quantitative assessment of its impacts against objectives and constraints internal to the transportation system as well as at the environmental, social, economic and territorial levels.

A system-engineering project considers alternative solutions by identifying the project’s objectives and constraints, satisfying the project’s requirements, defining and describing the elements of the system, simulating impacts, evaluating effectiveness, analysing economic and financial suitability, assessing social acceptance.

The detailed design of the project will only start once all of these considerations have been carefully dealt with.

Program Management

The design of large infrastructure projects requires appropriate tools and skills to address the high complexity of its implementation.

Complex infrastructures (large urban development projects, road and rail networks, etc.) are not comparable to a single large project: they are described as a set of different projects that are, at the same time, related and aimed at reaching a single goal.

In this context, it is essential to adopt more sophisticated planning and monitoring tools, advanced computer skills and high-level management skills aimed at prioritising resources across projects. The experience and expertise of the team responsible for the management of a project become crucial and essential for a client.

In addition, our consolidated Project Management competences can guarantee the execution of one or more projects while adhering to safety, schedule, costs and responsibility targets.
