25 Jun NET meets Vietnam Railways
steps ahead in the cooperation with the Vietnamese government for future development works on the railway and port system in Vietnam
Future infrastructural and technological upgrading of railway lines and port areas in Vietnam. These are the focus topics pertaining the meeting held in Monselice last week between the NET Engineering Group and the Vietnam Railways, whose delegation was led by the General Manager Vu Ta Tung.
NET Engineering, in partnership with Systematica, has recently completed the study for the Vietnamese beneficiary body, VietNam Railway Authority (VNRA), entitled “Technical-economic feasibility study for the optimization, development and modernization of the existing railway network of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam” awarded in 2017. The study is preparatory to the launch of specific interventions in the railway and port sector in Vietnam, and in particular evaluates the technological and infrastructural upgrading of the Hanoi – Haiphong port line, which connects the capital to one of the main ports of the country, in one of the most developed areas.
In parallel with another technical assistance study, developed by “Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane” for the organizational and managerial development of the Vietnamese railways, these activities fall within the scope of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Rome on 22nd November 2016 between the Ministry of Transport of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of the Italian Republic.
The cooperation with the Vietnamese railways aims to keep on supporting the achievement of medium-term targets for the upgrading of the existing network, with a view to transport efficiency and safety.
