NET International: a summer full of new opportunities

three important new contracts awarded in Germany, ambitious ongoing projects in Italy and Bulgaria

It has been a positive summer for the NET Group.

In the last weeks, Spiekermann, a company of the Group with 9 offices and more than 170 employees in Germany, has been definitively awarded two major contracts that consolidate its position among the top engineering companies in Germany.

Two projects were win from the customer Hamburger Hochbahn. One is for the design of the new bus depot and workshop not only for normal busses but as well for extra-large busses which are called “Capacity L” with 22 meters as well as double-articulated busses with a length of about 25 meters. Special about the project is that upcoming sustainable solutions, renewable energy busses like hydrogen vehicles and e-busses must be considered in the design for utility space and workshop units. The second, brand new project with the same customer contains the design of the new underground workshop that will shelter the DT3, DT4 and the new DT5 trains of the city metro.

In addition to that, Spiekerman got the contract for the design of the extension (section 5) of the existing light rail infrastructure in the city of Magdeburg. The tasks contains the design for tracks, crossings, power supply, catenary system, stops, traffic signal and more as well as coordinating the project.

In parallel, NET Engineering SpA has recently delivered to Salini- Impregilo the project for the hydraulic rehabilitation of the Bisagno river in Genoa, and is actually proceeding with the technical assistance in one of the major railway projects in Bulgaria, the modernization of the 40 km rail-line Sofia – Pernik – Radomir.
